Southwestern News Bureau
Southwestern wrestlers made the trip to Milan and had, I felt another
successful night. Milan won 51 – 24. Fielding only 8 wrestlers of a
possible 14 spots we were able to walk away winning 5 matches. Even in
what losses we had we were competitive and we learned some things
through them. I was very pleased with the way Michael Brawner, Cory
O’Neal and Dakota Tatem wrestled. The match started with 103 lb weight
class (which is rare anymore) and Cory had to come from behind win that
showed a lot of heart. Michael Brawner just went out and took care of
business. Dakota Tatem had a tall order with Ben Jackson, ranked in the
state poll. Dakota had a couple of occasions that we had him in
trouble. Overall I was pleased but we still have early season mistakes
that we need to eliminate. Winner for the Rebels were; Cory O’Neal,
Luke Schroeder, Michael Humphrey, Michael Brawner and Eli Lauderbaugh.
Southwestern hosts Charlestown at home on Wednsday and then to New
